DS90UB948-Q1: cannot change MODE_SEL 0x37 register by Software

Hi Team,

Just as the title, can we change MODE_SEL 0x37 of DS90UB948-Q1 by software?

From the ds., bit type of 0x37 is RW. However, i can't change its value through software (write), the only way is changing the external resistors.

Dongbao,

you can check the page36 in d/s, the mode_sel can configure the backchannel working mode, medium coax or STP, and LDI I/f which can be loaded into register 0x37. You can override these settings through registers 0x23, 0x34, 0x49, etc.

Junqiang,

Yes, I can configure the input/output mode and backchannel speed through 0x23,0x49.
However, repeater mode can't be changed even though the 0x23[2] is RW. It seem bit 2 is read only bit, just to indicate the status of mode_sel 1 pin.
