TCA6424A: Reset asserted during communication

Part Number: TCA6424A

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask TCA6424A?

Just in case, during communication between master(CPU) and slave(TCA6424A), if reset is asserted, the device return to initial conditon.
So, after reset is asserted, the device can't respond to master device with ACK, right?
It is destroyed  a (present) state, isn't it?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hello Hirotaka-san,

You are correct, pulling the reset pin low will cause the device to reset the registers AND state machine. Because the state machine is reset, you will not get an ACK back and will have to resend the device's address after initiating a start condition.
