TFP403: TFP403 based circuit not working

Hi,

We had done a circuit having TFP403 connected to FPGA. When connected to a HDMI/DVI source, the device is not getting detected. For example, when i connect by board to HDMI connector available on my laptop, the TFP403 is not getting detected. Since the circuit is not getting detecting, we are not able to see any signals on the inputs of TFP403 when observed over scope.

Do we need to send any specific commands to the HDMI source using DDC_SCL and DDC_SDA?

I dont know why the HDMI source is not getting detected. Please help on this.

If the source gets detected, then i hope it would be easier for us to debug the other portions of the circuit.

Hello Nagendra,

The TFP403 is not really involved in the EDID exchange. Therefore, you need to connect an external EDID ROM to store the display information this is how the PC knows the capabilities of the sink.

Can you please help me out on the contents of EDID ROM? I will try to pass the commands from an external microcontroller. I searched in google but could not find contents of EDID ROM

I'd suggest you refer to the VESA EDID spec which contains some examples that may help you in this process.
