LMH0303: SDO output

The datasheet states (page 13, register 0x04 named output) that >> 4:0 AMP 10000 SDO output amplitude in roughly 5 mV steps. <<

The default is 10000, which is 16 x 5 mV => 80mV! Is the datasheet correct or should it be in 50mV steps? Or an offset from 800mV?

Hi Ed,

5mV per step is correct. Rset value of 750 ohm sets output amplitude around 800mV. Then reg 0x04[4:0] sets offset with respect to value set by Rset(i.e 800mV).

Can this somewhere be concluded from the information in the datasheet?
So, 800 mV +/- ~ 80mV ?

Hi Ed,

Your understanding is correct. SMPTE allows +/-10% of 800mV. Therefor this is where +/-80mV comes from.
