Part Number: SN65DP159

Hi team,

The customer is using SN65DP159. He refers to the SLLA358 document. When he writes 0x03 to the register 0x0E

("{0x0E, 0x03} , //CDR_CONFIG[4:0]. FIXED,LN0" on page 9), then the value that he read is 0x01.

Q1: He would like to verify if the read value 0x01 is correct.

Q2: The customer would like to get the complete code of SLLA358 or more code examples. Do we have this?

Q3: If the HPD_SRC pin is pulled down to the low level, then there is not any AUX and DDC signal output.

And his PC will be stuck once the pin is pulled down to the low level. Would you provide some suggestions?

Do you know which is the baud rate of I2C that the customer is using?
Can you request the customer to test the same code with 400 Kbps of I2C (the only change is reg 0x09 = 0x37)?

Hi i Francisco,

The customer has replied to me. When he change the baud rate of I2C to 400Kbps, there is the AUX signal output,

but his PC cannot read EDID.

Another question: SN65DP159 can support DP++ to HDMI. The customer would like to verify if SN65DP159

can support DP to HDMI? If it cannot, would you recommend a DP to HDMI device?
I would like to know what the differences between DP and DP++? The difference is DP is Single Mode,while DP++ is Dual Mode?

We are still working with the code, sorry for the delay.
For the second question, yes, our DP159 support AC-coupled TMDS or Display Port Dual-Mode (DP++) to HDMI2.0 (as an observation, this device is a level shifter, no protocol converter).
About the differences yes, you are right and DP++ means that the device support AC-coupled TMDS and DP depending on CAD value (Config1).

You said "DP depending on CAD value (Config1)", so, what are the CAD value and Config 1?

Q2: If the device support DP++ to HDMI, it will not support DP to HDMI?

So, SN65DP159 cannot support DP to HDMI? If it cannot, would you recommend a DP to HDMI device?

Hello Mickey

1.- DP single mode means, that is only DP. DP++ means that can handle DP or TMDS AC-coupled
CAD is part of the configuration of source/sink and lets you the choice between DP and TMDS AC-coupled.
2.- DP++ = DP or TMDS AC-coupled, then it can support DP.
3.- We are debugging what's going on with the I2C configuration, please give us more time.

Can you confirm if the customer just changed the rate of their I2C controller or did they attempt to set the I2C rate in register 09?
