DS90UB914A-Q1: Spread Spectrum on Pararell Output Data??

Part Number: DS90UB914A-Q1

[ DS90UB914A-Q1 ] Spread Spectrum on Pararell Output Data??

Hi,

Can you help me to figure out whether pararell output data of DS90UB914A-Q1 is also performed spread spectrum (if it's enabled)?

As my understanding, the spread spectrum function is mainly for clock output to reduce the peak energy of output clock frequency.
However, if I check the datasheet of DS90UB914A-Q1, it says as below.

Does this mean that the spread spectrum affect on pararell output data?

Thank you for your support in advance.
Regards,
Ken

  • Hi,
The SSCG should affect both the clock and data. Data needs to lock to the correct edge of the clock with SSCG. No additional setting needed for data as this is done internally by processor.

  • I recognised that you modified your reply after I replied.
It's still appreciated if you can look into my reply below.

    Hi Charley,

Thank you for your erply. Can you please double check with your design?
Even though PCLK is SSCGed, we still have a pararell data outputs which have transition with same phase.

If the description is valid in the datasheet, the pararell output data should be  flip-flopped with SSCGed PCLK.

Also, can you take a look a drawing below which express my understanding about SSCG?
This would help other engineer to understand this function.

    Thanks,
    Ken

  • Charley,

Can you take a look my reply above?

    Thanks,
    Ken

  • Hi,
    I agree with your drawing.
If I understand you question correctly, there's one parallel data output that's not SSCGed. Could you point out which output it is?
