DP83822IF: Current Consumption in 100Base-FX Mode

Hi, the datasheet lists the current usage in 100Base-TX and 10Base-Te but give no indication of the current usage for 100Base-FX.

Has anyone measure this ICs usage in this mode?

Hi Steven,

100BASE-TX and 100BASE-FX consumption will be similar.
Both interfaces are constantly sending IDLEs during operation and have similar output voltage swings on the MDI.

Hi, I assumed as much. Also I assume there will be no Magnetic Supply as the fibre channels are capacitively coupled?

You are correct. The AVD and VDDIO supplies will be similar but there is no consumption at the transformer since it is cap coupled like you mentioned above.
