TLK3134: Cable question

Hello team,

I am trying to find a transceiver for the following interfaces that can drive cables over 4m:

XAUI interface at 3.125 Gbps

LVDS at 160 Mbps

I found the TLK3134 that can work with XAUI, and has built in de-emphasis, and there a few options for LVDS. I cannot find information on cable lengths that these can drive, though.

    Hi Adam,

    What type of cable is the customer wanting to drive as what data rate 3.125Gbps?

    We did a study a while back on driving 600mbps over Cat5 cable. But at 3.125Gbps, the customer will need to use higher quality cable such as twin-ax. With twin-ax and proper setup you, transmission distance up to 10m can be achieved but it all depends on the loss of the cable.

    The length of transmission will depend on the actual media type, connectors and other media characteristics.
