DS25CP104A: 3G-SDI 3:1 Switch with Output splitter design

Part Number: DS25CP104A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0344

Hi,

I am currently working on a 3G-SDI 3:1 Switch design with splitted Output. I Have created a first draft of the schematics and would like to know if this would work in principle or if there are mistakes. Especially, I am not so sure if I used the 100 Ohms Termination resistors correctly. Furthermore, what should I do with the unused Input and Output Pins of the DS25CP104A?

See my circuit below:

Thanks!

Patrick

  • Hi Patrick,

You will not need the 100 ohm resistors R3, R12, R17 - the LMH0344 and DS25CP104 are internally terminated.  Although you can keep the footprints to have a handy measurement point.

You can leave the unused outputs floating.  I would short out the unused inputs to minimize any noise entering the DS25CP104.

Make sure there is local decoupling for the supply to each component as well.

    Regards,

    Lee
