DP83822I: Question about SD function

Hi team,

Customer has some concern about the Signal Detection function in Fiber optic communication.

The Pin 24 can serve as the SD_IN while DP83822 connects with a Fiber optic transceiver. But in the Pin Function as below, there’s no description about this function of Pin 24. I read the datasheet and understand we can set the bootstrap mode to enable this function. But customer thought this is not helpful enough. So I just want to check with you is there any more detailed guideline on how to use this Pin24 as the SD_IN function?

    Hi Wayne,

    In the next datasheet revision, this will be added to the pin description table.

    The 100BASE-FX section also has a description of how the AMDIX_EN strap becomes SD_EN function when FX_EN = 1.

    The section in the datasheet describing the functionality is 8.4.4.2

    Is this helpful?  If not, what kind of information about the pin is the customer requesting?
