DS80PCI102: Program by SMBus

Part Number: DS80PCI102

Hi,

My customer is considering to use DS80PCI102.

Though they hope to program setting through only pins, I'm understanding that they must use SMBus if they adjust in a detail.

If they must for adapt x1 PCIe Gen1,  can they adapt for it by programming through only pins?

Or should they program through also SMBus?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi,

    It is very possible to tune the DS80PCI102 with just pin control.  Having an option to control with the SMBus is nice to have, but not necessary.

    For a GEN1 application I would set the following pin controls

    ENSMB = 0

    EQA0, EQA1 = 0  (as needed - recommend to start with minimum setting)

    EQB0, EQB1 = 0  (as needed - recommend to start with minimum setting)

    PRSNT# = 0 or connect to PCIe PRSNT#

    VOD_SEL = Float, DEMB, DEMA = Float  (1.0V with -3.5 dB for PCIe Gen1)

    Regards,

    Lee
