I have a design that uses the TUSB3410 which makes use of the internal VREG circuit.
Pin 1, VREGEN#, is pulled low to enable the internal 1.8V regulator at pin VCC18.
The output of this pin is then used to power a crystal oscillator, AP3S2-12.000MHZ-L-K-T whose output connects to TUSB3410 pin 27 (X1/CLK1).
Pin 26 (X2) is not connected.
Is this acceptable? The datasheet or EVM user guide makes no mention if it is acceptable to use the internal regulator to power the oscillator that feeds into the same part.
Does the oscillator have to be on a separate power source if it is a powered oscillator?
