TPS65982: TPS65982 BC1.2 Questions

Hi, Team,

A customer has question for TPS65982 BC1.2 function.

Question A.

Is the below BC1.2 detect sequence correct?
1. TPS65982 detects D+/D- voltage.
2. TPS65982 detects CDP or not
3. TPS65982 detects DCP or not
4. The port becomes SDP if it is not CDP or DCP.

Question B.

Is it possible to update BC1.2 status register if the below event happens? (0x3F Power Status Register)
1. Apple divider Mode Adapter is connected to TPS65982
2. Adapter configuration is changed "Apple divider Mode => BC1.2"

Question C.

Is there any spec for detection of DCP or CDP? For example, voltage tolerance or detect timing

Question A:
Yes, this sequence is correct.

Question B:
We do not have any specific hooks for "Apple Divider Mode" since this specific charging specification is not supported by the TPS65982. When connecting an Apple charger, it will appear as a CDP.

Question C:
You can refer to the BC1.2 specification for all specific voltage and timing tolerances. Here is a link to the BC1.2 spec: composter.com.ua/.../BC1.2_FINAL.pdf
