DS90UB914A-Q1: Primary function for GPIO pins

Part Number: DS90UB914A-Q1

Hi,

Let me confirm about below.

* According to datasheet, it seems user can set normal operation setting for GPIO by changing register.

However, it seems that there is no any assigned function except GPIO as shown below.

So, could you please tell us when user set "0 :Enable normal operation" for GPIO pins", which function is available ?

(I confirmed that GPIO was NOT enabled when I set  "0 :Enable normal operation", I guess that no function is assigned or any fucntion except GPIO is assigned.)

Best Regards,

  • Hi,
When set to "0 :Enable normal operation", no function is assigned to GPIO.

    Sincerely,
    Charley Cai
  • Hi Cai-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
I have one additional question for following answer.

    > no function is assigned to GPIO.
In above case(assigned no fucntion), do you know "I/O, type" for these pins ?
Customer is concerned about following situation.

    * They do not use GPIO. Therefore they will set "0 :Enable normal operation" to GPIO pins.
However, there is usecase that GPIO pin will be connected to MCU.
So, depending on I/O type, there is possiblity that one of MCU or DS90UB914 will receive damage when one of power supply is not supplied.

    BR,
  • Hi,
We recommended leave GPIO's open when not using them.
For GPIO0, 0x1D[1] sets the I/O type. Default is at 1 (input). If GPIO is connected to MCU and not used, leave it as input is fine.

    Sincerely,
    Charley Cai
