DS90UB953-Q1: use case of Sync Mode , Non-Sync mode

Hello,

I have questions about SYNC and Non-Synce mode

Since the external clock is not necessary and the sync the multiple camera clock,the SYNC mode is preferred mode of DS90UB953-Q1.
Are there any demerit of SYNC mode?
Also, is there better case to use non-sync mode?

    Synchronous mode operation between DS90UB953-Q1 and the respective deserializer provides benefits of common clock and higher speed back channel. In some cases where there is an external oscillator present in the sensor a customer may chose to use this as the frequency reference.
