DS90LV804: Switching Characteristics of LVDS Inputs

Part Number: DS90LV804

Our customer has a question about DS90LV804.
I'm posting the question for the customer:

The datasheet of DS90LV804 does not describe LVDS Input switching characteristics in Electrical Characteristics pages.

Do you have any input timing requirements of LVDS inputs like Rise/Fall times, acceptable duty and so on?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Takishin

  • Hi,

The DS90LV804 does require a LVDS compatible input signal with a minimum transmitted amplitude of 500 mVpp to work at the maximum datarate of 800 Mbps.  It is also recommended that there is a maximum attenuation of 3 dB between this transmitter and the DS90LV804 input.  This is required because the DS90LV804 does not have additional input equalization to compensate for PCB or cabling losses.

    Regards,

    Lee

  • Hello Lee,

    Thank you for your answer.
    I understand.

    I'll report to the customer.

    Best regards,
    Takishin
