Hi Teams,

My customers are during the evaluation.

I would like to cooperate because I want to solve their problem.

When connecting TI's PHY-IC and another manufacturer's PHY-IC, it takes a long time to link up.

The causes they guess are below.

Since the PHY-IC can not decode it as an idle signal, auto negotiation has been repeated.

At that time,another manufacturer's PHY-IC has detected an RX symbol error.

Is there a specification that makes DP83867E any change in the idle signal immediately after link up?

Also, have you heard of such a phenomenon?

I would like to ask some follow-up questions.
1. How long is the link up time?
2. Have they tested multiple DP83867E boards?
3. Have they tried connecting DP83867E to another DP83867E system? Does it show the same issue?
4. What is the link partner? Have the customer tried different link partners?

The link partner is Micrel's EVM (PHY-IC; KSZ 9031).
