TUSB3410: About watchdog timer.

Part Number: TUSB3410

HI team,

I know there is an 8052 MCU inside the TUSB3410.

I checked the reset block diagram and knew that the WDT reset connect with Reset Pin.

And WDT is supposed to be used basically.

I have a few questions below.

1. What code is in the 8052 in the new product?

2. Can I use the 8052 without entering the source?

3. Does using the default source cause continuous WDTs?

4. Can you provide a driver for Linux?

  • Hello Charles,

    1. You can use an external EEPROM to write the code (firmware) so the TUSB3410 will load this one at the startup, or it can be loaded by USB, the Windows/Linux driver load this firmware if there is no a valid firmware in the EEPROM. Please note this default firmware is a USB to UART bridge.

    2. The TUSB3410 requires a firmware to work properly.

    3. The WDT is used for some specific functions in the firmware.

    4. The Linux driver is included by default since kernel 2.6. Please note this driver is owned by the Linux community.

    Regards,
    Roberto
