DS90C387: IBIS model Query

Dear team,

I am doing signal integrity analysis for LVDS interface signals. The output from DS90C387VJD_TOUTP buffer model is not proper. The voltage swings is very less and ringing is too much with ideal case. We need to run LVDS signal for longer length of 12 Inch. Hence please check IBIS model and confirm the accuracy. Please suggest can we run the LVDS signal for such longer length with DS90C387 part.

Hi,

What clock frequency are you running at DS90C387? What mode are you running ? dual pixel, single pixel, or single pixel input to dual pixel output operation?

Can you forward your simulation waveform and detail setup? 12 inch is considered as short distance cable. The device can drive 5+ meters cable.

Hi,

Please find the details as below.

Clock frequency : 96 MHz

Mode of operation : Dual mode ( we may change it to single mode or single in – dual out mode )

Simulation results : please find the waveforms in the attachment.

Thank you so much for your feedback.

I do agree that output voltage swing showing good margin & meeting DC spec w.r.t differential voltage swing. What about common mode voltage ( Vcm ) & single ended waveforms. Was that waveforms accepted ?

Hi,

The driver Vcm is 1.25V and Vod is 345mV on the page 4 of datasheet. The single end swing is ~600mV. It is showing good margin on your waveforms. I don’t expect any issue to drive 12 inches cable on DS90C387

Does the waveform improve with the 10~30pF caps?
