DP83849I: Values missing in the DS

Part Number: DP83849I

Hello,

So far I used DP83849I with a commercial crystal oscillator (0°C ... +70°C), but now I need higher temperatures so will use an oscillator in the industrial range (-40°C ... +85°C).
The crystal oscillator’s dimensions are 3.2mm x 2.5mm and it seems to be small so with a limited maximum power and it might need a series resistance on X2 (output).

In order to size all the resonant circuit and evaluate the gain margin I would like to know:

- Transconductance’s value of the amplifier used for the oscillator

- The parasitic capacitance across the pins X1 and X2 (The ds only provides 8pF for pin CMOS, but may be pins X1 and X2 might be different?)

Many Thanks,

  • Hi Fax,

We do not publish that information online. We have provided more information to customers regarding crystal selection like not selecting crystals with load capacitance less than 12pF. If series resistor is used, then keep it around 500ohms or less.

If this information is not sufficient to make a crystal selection please send us a offline message since we cannot post the oscillator design parameters online.
