DS150DF1610: For 6.6Gbps

Part Number: DS150DF1610

Hi,

Our customer is looking for 6.6Gbps Retimer. Does the DS150DF1610 support 6.6Gbps? If so, could you provide the register settings for the data rate?

Best Regards,

Kato

  • Hi Kato-san,

Yes, the DS150DF1610 can support 6.6 Gbps. To do this, you will need to change the VCO frequency to be 13.2 GHz and then change the divide-by counter to include the ability to lock to "divide-by-2" so that the VCO is able to lock to 6.6 Gbps.

To configure, follow the steps in Section 8.3.2 for manually programming the Data Rate Selection.

    I suggest trying the following:
    1. Set Reg 0x2F[7:4] = 0000'b //Set divider to 2, 4
    2. Determine the appropriate value as directed in Table 18 for Reg 0x60, Reg 0x61, Reg 0x64[7:4] and Reg 0x67[7] based on F1 = 13200 MHz

Which protocol is your customer using the 6.6 Gbps rate for?

    Thanks,

    Michael
  • Hi Michael - san,

I'm so sorry to be late in answering your reply. I 've almost recovered from the jet lag.

The protocol is Aurora 8B/10B. Customer says Aurora 8B/10B is 6.6Gbps.

    Best Regards,

    Kato
