Dear Team,
Please see below a few questions from my customer :
1. Will the AT25FS010 be compatible with TUSB9261 ?
2. What does it mean when device is powered from VBUS pin in datasheet. Does it means that I don't need to supply 1.1V VDD?
3. In TI document slla315 in table 7, the recommended devices from NYMONYX or Atmel are obsolete. Can TI recommend other devices, preferred from Atmel?
Best regards,
Nir.
Hello Nir,
The SPI flash devices listed on the TUSB9261 Implementation Guide were tested with the evaluation module and are known to work with the TUSB9261; although any SPI flash device complying with the timing specifications (section 10 on the Implementation Guide, specifically table 6) and supporting the opcodes listed on the TUSB926x FlashBurner User's Guide (section 5.4, table 5-1) should work without problems.
Finally, regarding your second question on powering the device using Vbus; you will still need to provide VDD and VDD33 as specified on the TUSB9261 datasheet, although, as with any other bus-powered USB device implementation, you won't need to have an external power supply as long as the current draw required by your system doesn't exceed the limits defined by the USB specification (500mA when configured as HS / 900mA when operating in SS mode). On that implementation VDD/VDD33 would be derived from VBus using LDOs/regulators.

Jorge
