Why in the data sheet for the TUSB320 in the UFP configuration, the connection to VDD is connected to VBUS with a DIODE however in the HD3SS3220 in the UFP configuration, the connection to the VDD5 to the VBUS - no diode is shown \ suggested ?

Hello Shmuel,

The example implementation at figure 14 of the TUSB320 datasheet is showing how the device can be powered from Vbus when guaranteed to be under 5.5V.
Example implementation at figure 12 of the HD3SS3220 datasheet isn't being powered from Vbus; although if Vbus is to be used, a similar implementation using a diode would be recommended.
