Hi team,

My customer wants to know whether SN65HVDA1040A-Q1 can be used for  24 V Automotive
Applications systems.

I think SN65HVDA1040A-Q1 can be used for them. Because its bus-fault protection is
-27 V to 40V.

Is this correct?  Please let me know.

    Hello Nakano-san,

    If the customer is OK with the bus fault protection range, it is OK to use this device. We've found that most customers prefer a device with +/- 58-V fault tolerance for 24-V systems, though, in order to get extra margin against different fault conditions like reversed battery, doubled battery, etc. The TCAN1042-Q1 may be more appropriate for this application, then. That device has a number of other improvements over SN65HVDA1040A-Q1 as well, such as improved EMC performance and ESD immunity. Please let me know if you have any questions.
