DS90CR285: DS90CR286 Hot-plugging problem

Part Number: DS90CR285
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90CR286,

Dear All

We have designed a LVDS transceiver system with DS90CR286 and DS90CR285. But  if  one side of the transmitter or receiver lost its power and plugging in or out the connected Cable , the DS90CR286 or DS90CR285 is very easy to be damaged。  Are  there some good soluion for this problem, and explain the reason?

Thank your very much

Best wishes!

  • The DS90CR285 and DS90CR286 can support hot-swap. The GND reference must be established prior to signals to maintain a high impedance at the bus signal inputs. The issue seems to be an EOS (electrical over-stress) event.

Does the interface utilize any ESD suppression diodes?

In order to support hot plug devices need to have the GND and supply voltages connect prior to signals.

Can you send the system block diagram and schematic to my email below?

    Thanks,
    Dennis
