DS90UB953-Q1: Resister selection for IDx and MODE definition

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Hi Champs,

In the datasheet of DS90UB953, suggested resister value is written in Table 7 and Table 11, for Mode Select and IDx configuration respectively.

Customer wants to use 390 ohm of E24 series resister(+/- 5%) for Rlow.

In this case, RATIO MIN = 0.035 and RATIO MAX = 0.04, still in range of “Synchronous” mode.

Q.1) Is it feasible with above resister selection?

Also for IDx configuration, customer wants to use 39k ohm of E24 series resister.

But IDX=1 case, Rhigh is open.

How can we calculate RATIO_MIN/MAX with Rlow resister value?

Best regards,

  • Hello,

The 390 ohm resistor should be fine.

For IDX case 1, it may be more useful to think about this ratio in terms of the target voltage. For case 1, a V_IDX of 0 to 0.2358 should result in the correct mode. A 39k ohm resistor should satisfy this voltage requirement.

    Regards,
    Zoe
