"Do we need reserved thermal pad space for layout?"

-It is not needed for the device to operate however if you plan on sourcing or sinking a lot of current then I would recommend you use the thermal pad to help dissipate some of the heat.

"If yes how many via will need use?"

-Typically in PCB design, if you need to dissipate heat through a thermal pad the most effective way is to try to fit as many vias on the thermal pad as allowed. So this will depend on how large you make your vias.
