TUSB4041I: Windows XP

Part Number: TUSB4041I

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

we are using your TUSB4041I device in one of our product. If we use this device under Windows10 oder Windows7, we do not have any problems, but if our customer use Windows XP, sometime the hub is not found by the OS. Inside the Device Manager, we see a Unknown Device under Universal Serial Bus controllers folder. I think the hub is acting as HID, and I do not need any driver. My question is now, is this device downward compatible with Windows XP, or do I need any special driver to support this device under older operating systems?

Thanks in advance

Raimund Buchhauser

  • Hi Raimund,

The TUSB4041 should work fine with Windows XP, please make sure that you have the latest Windows XP drivers installed.  The USB specification started to require hubs to report at USB 2.1 compatible instead of USB 2.0 compatible and that caused some issues with the older drivers.  Please send a screencap of  Device Manager if the problem persists.

    Regards,

    JMMN
