TPD2S300: TPD2S300 used for SBU pins

Hi,

For PCB area concerns, my customer plans to use two TPD2S300 chips covering CC pins and SBU pins individually.  THe question is, is there any concern to cover SBU protections using TPD2S300?  From TPD8S300, the electrical characteristics is not exactly the same between CC and SBU pins.  Please share your comments.

    That will depend on the maximum frequency that your customer intends to utilize across the SBU lines. The 3dB point on the S21 frequency of the TPD2S300 is about 8MHz which will limit the effective frequency of operation of the SBU channel to about 2MHz.

    If that frequency range works for the side band channel your customer plans to support, then two TPD2S300 chips will be sufficient.
