TS3USB221: About /OE and Vcc pin

Part Number: TS3USB221

Hi,

Customer is considering the following constitution.

“Hub⇔TS3USB221⇔Device”
As part of the specification, Customer wants to turn off the power of the hub with the USB communication connected.

In the customer design process, I got the following question.

Could you give me your advice?

In the case of “①Bus-switch disable and Vcc=3.3V” and “②Bus-switch enable and Vcc=0V”,

Is the communication line of ① and ② the same disconnected state(Hi-Z)?

Is it OK to add the High signal to the /OE pin in VCC is 0V condition?

Once the / OE pin is brought High to disconnect communication,

After that, when the / OE pin and Vcc are simultaneously turned OFF,

Can this device keep disconnected state?

Customers are concerned about the possibility of communicating even momentarily.

Best Regards,

Yusuke/Japan Disty

  • Yusuke-san,

It is recommended to supply Vcc at all times while operating the device to have certainty on the switch states.
Please note that recommended operating conditions for the control inputs are based on Vcc levels, so it is not recommended to set OE wihile the device is off (Vcc = 0V)

    Regards,
    Jorge
