TUSB321: Required Delay time between CC Pin detection to OUT Pins output on BUS powered applications

I used this TUSB321 part in UFP and also it be a USB powered design. In TUSB321, OUT1 and OUT 2 open drain pins are used to detect the how much current we can get it from USB Host/DFP device.
we got an output on OUT 1/2 line when we connected to DFP. in this I want to know the delay time between the transition of CC pin attachment to OUT pin outputs in BUS powered applications.

below mentioned the flow of functionality:

USB Connector inserted

CC Pins detected the attachment and current capability

VBUS activated on DFP side

VBUS detected on TUSB321 - that time only TUSB321 is powered on

After that, we will get a output on OUT 1/2 lines

This delay is not mentioned in the datasheet. could you confirm the delay time?

Hi Mariselvam,

Please follow these recommendations:

DIR ==> This is an open drain output, a pull-up resistor (200k) must be installed for proper operation.
ID ==> Is a open drain output, a pull-up resistor (200k) must be installed.
VCON_FAULT ==> Is a open drain output, a pull-up resistor (200k) must be installed.

Hello Luis,

Thanks for your recommendations.

But, we are using this TUSB321 in Device side (UPF). As per datasheet, we do not need to use that ID pin and VCON_FAULT pin right.

DIR Pin is pulled up to 10Kohm and its located in MUX side (It's not shown in image).

Pls, confirm this if we using this TUSB321 in device mode (UFP), we do not need to put a resistor on ID pin as well as VCON_FAULT pin.
and also confirm the transition time delay from DFP attachment detection on CC Lines and Output produces on OUT1 and OUT 2 pins.

Hi Mariselvam,

For UFP application is not needed to use ID pin to switch VBUS. Although we recommend to connect the pull-up resistors of 200k for VCON_FAULT, DIR AND ID.
Please let me verify with the team the time delay from DFP attachment detection on CC lines.

Hello Mariselvam,

The CC debounce time for detection is 133ms (Typical). According to the USB Type-C spec, this parameter must be in the range of MIN=100ms MAX=200ms.
