TPS65982: 0x37 Autonegotiate Sink

Part Number: TPS65982

Hi Team,

I understand that the Autonegotiate Sink will be active when "Process Swap to Sink"  is enabled in control configuration from the thread below.

What happens if we set the Autonegotiate Sink disabled with "Process Swap to Sink" enabled?

Regards,

Takashi Onawa

  • Hi Onawa-san,

The behavior selected in the Port Control register will not affect the behavior in the Autonegotiate Sink register. The Port Control behavior will determine whether the TPS65982 will send Power/Data Role Swaps, Accept or Reject Power/Data Role Swaps, and how it responds to a few other PD Events. The Autonegotiate Sink register is mainly used when a variety of Source PDOs are received and the TPS65982 wants to select a certain PDO based on highest Voltage, current or power.

    Thank you,
    Eric
