DS90UB934-Q1: I2C communication with other fpdlink IC

Part Number: DS90UB934-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB948-Q1

Hello,

When i use DS90UB934-Q1 EVM with default setting, however, they cannot communicate with other fpdlink devices (948EVM, 921EVM etc...).

I tested the voltage of 934 I2C port: VDDIO=3.3V, VSCL=VSDA=1.8V, VGND=0. However, in DS90UB948-Q1 EVM, the tested results are VDDIO=3.3V, VSCL=VSDA=3.3V, VGND=0

I also checked the schematic and layout, no error found. Please help give some advice, this will cause communication error when i use the I2C on EVM board to read fpdlink IC on customer board.

  • Hi Dongbao,

How did you test the VSCL and VSDA of 934? You should test it when the I2C is working. I tested the 934EVM, when not reading I2C, the voltage is 1.8V. But when reading I2C, the voltage is 2.9V.

If you can't read the other device from I2C, please check the CRC errors. Suggest you to do BIST first to check errors.

    Best regards,

    Cera
