TPS65983: TPS65983 current limit

My system is power sink side. we have use TPS65983
We have try to short power to GND , and Power source will be disable ( 5V --> 0V ).

I want know this protection form Power source(ex : Type C adapter ) or Sink ( My system TPS65983 ) ?

because I have test OCP function. When Load > 3A , Vbus will be disable. File : tek00006
but I use short , current limit will happen on 2.3A , Vusb will be disable. File : tek00004
I don't know this protection is OCP or UVP?

Hi Kerr,

It's source's responsibility to trip the VBUS if there's overcurrent or short in power.

Can you please give us more detailed waveforms, with name of every signal and tell us the peak current seen in the second waveform?

Yes , You are right.

Do you know TPS65983 with TBT setting for

1 : Set Under-Vottage Protection 4.5V always ( Enable / Disable )

2 : Under-Vottage protection trip point PP_5V (5%-50%)

Hi Kerr,

TBT configurations are pre-defined by partner companies and there's very little you can change there. These hardware are design to work with particular settings and therefore we don't provide much flexibility to change these settings in TBT tempelates.
