DS90UB964-Q1: RAW10 8-bit mode

[ DS90UB964-Q1 ] RAW10 8-bit mode

Hi,

Can you elaborate the RAW10_8BIT_CTL register bit (0x7C[7:6]) in the PORT_CONFIG (0x7C)?

Even though we use this RAW10 8-bit mode (either 10 or 11), CSI data type still need to be set as RAW10 (Not RAW8). Correct?
(CSI data type specifies RAW8 data type as well)

My customer would use DS90UB964-Q1 in conjunction with four DS90UB913A-Q1s with RAW10 mode.
But actual data bit is 8bit out of 10bit, thus it may be required to configure this bit.

Hello Ken,

Your understanding is generally correct. The deserializer should be in RAW10 mode and 0x7C set to the desired mode.

However, the CSI data type itself can be set as desired by the customer and does not have to be set to RAW10.

Hi Ken,

The one error I see is that selecting the upper 8-bits will correspond to DIN 9:2, not DIN 7:0. Otherwise, your understanding seems correct.
