ISO1050: Peripheral circuit recommended

Part Number: ISO1050

Dears

My customer use ISO1050 in their product, when they test it , found that the CANH Trise, CANL Trise,Diff Trise,CANH Tfall,CANL Tfall,Diff Tfall time is less than they need. Also the CANH and CANL power is less than they need. Can you help to give me a peripheral circuit recommended for ISO1050. Thank you~

  • Hello,

Thanks for bringing your question to the Industrial Interface Forum.

Differential output signal rise time and fall time are defined in the ISO1050 datasheet in section 6.9 Switching Characteristics: Driver (page 8 of the datasheet).

As the table notes, these measurements are under the test conditions in Figure 10 of the datasheet: 60Ω load with a 100pF capacitive load. Different loads can produce different timing results.

To clarify: are these times too fast or too slow? If they are too fast, why is that a concern for their system?

Can you also clarify what you mean by CANH and CANL power is less than they need? Are you saying the driver is not powerful enough to drive their bus? What is their requirement?

Here is a basic circuit recommendation for the ISO1050:

  • Hi,

I haven't heard back from you in about a week. I'm going to assume you were able to resolve your timing and power issues for the ISO1050. If this is not the case, please respond to this thread or start a new thread and I will be happy to support you!

    Best regards,
    Dan
