Hi,

Do I still need a PHY if I would like to make a connection to a 100BASE-T input?

(POE+)RJ45(100Base-T) <-> (PHY?) < -> 100Base-T1 (Host CPU)

Hi Jackson,

Yes. A "media converter" is needed to make the transition from a 100base-tx to 100base-t1 port. The DP83TC811 and DP83822 both support RGMII mode which is easy to realize a back-2-back configuration. SImply connect the TX of one PHY to the RX pins of the second PHY.

We will also be launching with a DP83TC811 media converter as an available EVM in the future.
