Hi,

I am looking for a media converter IC  to convert Ethernet (RJ45) interface to optical fiber interface and vice versa.  

Another requirement of converter is to convert RS 485 interface to optical fiber interface  and vice versa.

Please suggest a smaller and cheaper IC for each requirement and also let me know the possibility of a single IC which will support both requirements.

Please suggest me.

    Hi Suvra,

    The conversion of RS-485 to optical fiber may be out of the scope of this forum.

    Yet a common media converter option is the DP83849IF to convert from 100base-fx (optical media) to 100base-tx (100M Ethernet RJ45).

    If you need to convert from 1000M Ethernet, you would have to create a media converter using a DP83867 device connected to a fiber optic transceiver..
