THVD1510: RE DE Enable time

Part Number: THVD1510

Hello Team

I have some question about the RE/DE enable time

1) general when 485 chip, we connect RE and DE together. But they have difference enable time, please see the following data. When the part change from Receiver to Driver, the time RE  from VCC to 0V will need 500ns, but DE from 0v to VCC will need 8us. So which time will detemine the last change.

2, if the two pin separate control, both  of them are enable. can the RXD receive TXD data?

  • Hi Xiao Zhu,

    1) If you tie both EN together, the enable time would be around 500ns. 8us enable time is needed when the device comes out from the state that both TX and RX are disabled (the device is in low power standby mode).

    2) Yes. If both TX and RX are on, RXD output should follow TXD.

Please let me know if you have other questions about THVD1510.

    Regards,

    Hao
