Hi Team,
cusotmer would like to do the FW update for TPS65982.

Questions: if both of region0 and region1 are invalid, still load patch from region1?

    In this situation chip will not boot up and will get stuck in "BOOT" mode.

    Hi SHH,

    Just to add some more details to the answer above, you need to have at working firmware in at least one of the Region of the SPI flash.

    The chip at boot up tries to boot from Region 0 and only when it fails it tries to fetch firmware from Region 1. Now if even Region 1 is also corrupted or blank then the TPS65982 will get stuck as no valid FW file is available. However, our FW is architectured in such a way that both the regions will never go bad together. It can only happen due to some issue with SPI flash device.

    The only way to recover from this is to reprogram the complete SPI flash, this will provide valid FW image for both Region 0 and Region 1.
