TCAN4550-Q1: How does the buffering of messages work for this device?

Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN4550

Does the TCAN4550 offer any buffering of messages, either FIFO or mailboxes? Does it buffer TX messages?

Thank you!

  • Hi Lenio,

Yes, the device has 2k of RAM located in registers 0x8000 through 0x87FF that can be assigned as either buffers (priority-based) or FIFOs (timing-based) for transmitting and receiving CAN frames. The memory space is configured via registers 0x10A0 (RXF0C), 0x10AC (RXBC), 0x10B0 (RXF1C), 0x10BC (RXESC), 0x10C0 (TXBC), 0x10C8 (TXESC), and 0x10F0 (TXEFC).

    Regards,
    Max
