Hi, Team

Could you let me know what is the OVP/OCP behavior in TPS65983B?

If the VBUS exceed OVP trip point, will it latch off or re-try?

If the TPS65983B used the external MOSFET and exceed OCP trip point, will it limit the current or latch off?

Hi Ray,

If the VBUS exceeds the OVP trip point, it will keep retrying until the voltage is below the OVP trip point.
The same behavior is completed for the external FET when it surpasses the OCP trip point.

If the VBUS exceed the OVP trip point and it keep retrying.
Will it clamp the VBUS voltage?

For the external FET, will it limit the output current?

Hi Ray,

The TPS65983B will not clamp the VBUS voltage in an OVP condition.
The TPS65983B will try to limit the current output on the external power path to the negotiated sourcing amount.
