TMDS181: Schematic review

Part Number: TMDS181

Hi Sirs,

As title, could you help double confirm our schematic if we missed anything.

tmds181.output-new.pdf

Thanks!!

  • Hello Shu

Can you confirm in which mode are you configuring the TMDS181? Can you confirm the capacitors value on lanes? Will you have TMDS AC-coupled on the output? if not, this connection is not necessary (pull up resistors and AC-capacitors).
We recommend using a 7.06 k resistor at Vsadj.
We recommend starting with .2uF on OE pin and remove the pull-up resistor, the TMDS181 has an internal pull-up and populate this capacitor.
If you will use the device in sink mode, we recommend using 47k pull-up resistors.
Can you confirm the bypass capacitors value? we recommend one 100nF cap on each power pin (Vcc = 3.3V x2, Vdd 1.1V x5),
4.7pF and 10pF on each power node, one bulky cap per power node.

  • Hi Sirs,

Sorry for my late reply, Please refer as below

Can you confirm in which mode are you configuring the TMDS181?

A: DP3_TX0~DP3_TX3 are HDMI, CH2 is CLK. Like Table 47

Can you confirm the capacitors value on lanes?

    A: 104P/16V

Will you have TMDS AC-coupled on the output? if not, this connection is not necessary (pull up resistors and AC-capacitors).

A: TMDS181 input is from CPU directly connected Cap

We recommend using a 7.06 k resistor at Vsadj.

    A:OK

We recommend starting with .2uF on OE pin and remove the pull-up resistor, the TMDS181 has an internal pull-up and populate this capacitor.

    A:OK

If you will use the device in sink mode, we recommend using 47k pull-up resistors.
    A:OK

Can you confirm the bypass capacitors value? we recommend one 100nF cap on each power pin (Vcc = 3.3V x2, Vdd 1.1V x5), 4.7pF and 10pF on each power node, one bulky cap per power node.

A: VCC and VDD will use 104P, We would like to know 1V2_INC is still need these Cap?

    Schematic update as below

    GH170 _ 22_HDMI 2.output.pdf

If still have some risk on our design please kindly let us know.

    Thanks!!

  • Hello LIN

Can you confirm in which mode are you configuring the TMDS181?

A: DP3_TX0~DP3_TX3 are HDMI, CH2 is CLK. Like Table 47

B: The mode that I tried to say is strap mode or I2C mode because in your comments looks like you want to use the strap mode, but your connection is for I2C mode.

Can you confirm the capacitors value on lanes?

    A: 104P/16V

Will you have TMDS AC-coupled on the output? if not, this connection is not necessary (pull up resistors and AC-capacitors).

A: TMDS181 input is from CPU directly connected Cap
B: I was talking about of the output.

We recommend using a 7.06 k resistor at Vsadj.

    A: OK

We recommend starting with .2uF on OE pin and remove the pull-up resistor, the TMDS181 has an internal pull-up and populate this capacitor.

    A: OK
B: you still have a pull-up resistor (now with 0 Ohms). We recommend just connect the capacitor and remove the resistor 4, this device has an internal pull-up for this configuration.

If you will use the device in sink mode, we recommend using 47k pull-up resistors.
    A: OK

Can you confirm the bypass capacitors value? we recommend one 100nF cap on each power pin (Vcc = 3.3V x2, Vdd 1.1V x5), 4.7pF and 10pF on each power node, one bulky cap per power node.

A: VCC and VDD will use 104P, We would like to know 1V2_INC is still need these Cap?
B: This device is not part of our company and you hadn't change according to our recommendation.

Perform double check on the configuration of A1 and A0 depending of the mode that you will work.
