Linux/TUSB3410: TUSB3410 doesn't work to serialize with EEPROM by Linux

Part Number: TUSB3410

Tool/software: Linux

Hi team,

My customer tested the connection by Linux using EEPROM.
Please help me as they faced issues below.

Port number changed when they connect/disconnect USB, rebooting PC,
and when connecting multiple TUSB3410 with unique serial numbers written in EEPROM to Linux.

We download F/W from the host and store the serial number in EEPROM, but is it the same when we store F/W to EEPROM?
Also, please let me know how to serialize (individual recognition).

Best Regards
Hayashi

  • Hello,

Could you please send us the following information about your scenario?

What Linux version are they using?

Could you please send us the full EEPROM image that they are using? are they just changing the serial number on the EEPROM or they are changing something else?

Can you try multiple TUSB3410 without the EEPROM, the Linux driver must support multiple devices.

    Regards,
    Roberto

*Try multiple TUSB3410 without the EEPROM
My customer tried to connect two TUSB3410 write in EEPROM to Linux.
Each device could recognize, but the device name (ttyUSB0 / ttyUSB1) to be allocated has changed when it insert/ eject the USB and reboot each time.
However in the case of connected by windows, a unique COM number was allocated, and it never changed by insert/ eject the USB and reboot.

Should you have any questions or need more inofrmation, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best regards
