I have a customer who wants to use the DS125BR111 with SATA3. Is this the proper part for this type application? Currently he is using the suggested settings for SAS3.
Here is the customer’s response:
Yes I am using this equalization level and setting those two pins as such. However, I am not using SAS3, I am using SATA 3. SAS3 is a 12Gbps signal whereas SATA 3 is only 6Gbps. I am wondering if the pins should be set in a different fashion when using SATA3.
Currently, I have the following settings:
-EQA0 and EQB0 pulled high with 1k resistors
-VODA_DB and VODB_DB pulled low with 1k resistors
-SD_TH floating
-VOD_SEL pulled high with a 1k resistor
-RXDET pulled high with a 1k resistor
-RES is floating
-VDD_SEL is tied to GND
-PWDN is tied to GND
Can he use this part with SATA3 or does he need to use a different part? What are the recommended settings if he is using SATA3?
Thanks for your help with this!
