DP83822IF: Table 12. LED_0 Configuration

Part Number: DP83822IF

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask DP83822IF?

We are so sorry to keep bothering you.
We would like to understand about Table 12. LED_0 Configuration on the datasheet P47 correctly.

ON for Good Link ->  Does it mean that the condition is good link?((Address0x01's  b2 Link status is 1 = Valid link established (for either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps operation), right?)
OFF for No Link -> Does it mean that the condition is link loss?(Address0x01's  b2 Link status is 0 = Link not established, right?)

Will LED_LINK deassert in accordance with the Link Loss Timer as specified in the IEEE 802.3 specification?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hello,

Yes, your understanding is correct. ON for Good Link means that LED will be asserted (will glow) when 10M or 100M link is successfully established. Link status will also be shown in register 0x01 bit[2]. DP83822 does follow IEEE 802.3 specification for link up and link loss.
