DS110DF410: does DS110DF410 support 3.125Gbps datarate?

Hi ,

in customer's application, DS110DF410 needs to communication with 2.5G optical module, the datareate of optical module is 3.125Gbps.

in test, communication fails,

so customer want to check if DS110DF410 supports 3.125Gbps datarate?

    Hi Max,

    The VCO of the DS110DF410 can only support data rates ranging from 8.5-11.3 Gbps and divide-by ratios of 2, 4, and 8. Looking at the 3.125 Gbps data rate, the DS110DF410 VCO will be unable to lock to this rate.

    A more suitable choice is the DS125DF410. This device's VCO supports data rates ranging from 9-12.5 Gbps and divide-by ratios of 2, 4, and 8. With the DS125DF410, you can set the VCO to lock to 12.5 Gbps and a divide-by ratio of 4 to achieve lock at 3.125 Gbps. For more information, please see the DS125DF410 datasheet, Table 2 for "Standards-Based Modes Register Settings" for commonly supported Standards.
