DS80PCI102: Power consumption

Dear Team,

My customer considers using the DS80PCI102.

1. On the datasheet we couldn't figure out what's the power consumption in standard operation and in low power mode. The 65mW/channel mentioned on the first page of the datasheet - is it for Low power or normal operation ?

2. In terms of power consumption, If we need only two links - is it better to use two DS80PCI102 or a single DS80PCI402 ?

3. Can we use DS80PCI402 if we have two separate links coming from different sources ?

Hi Nir,

1. The 65mW/channel is for standard operation. Low power mode (the device is not transmitting) is considerably less. Roughly 30mW total.

2. For 2 separate links using two DS80PCI102 devices is preferred. It will also give you lower power when using pin control since all the channels are utilized.

3. For 2 separate links it is preferred to use 2xDS80PCI102.
