Hi,
we are making dock station and using Full featured USB-C DP PD port based on TPS65982.
For some reasons it is required that this port should be DP UFP_D or DFP_D depends on what is connected to this port.
When PC is connected, video is comming out from PC to Display Port output.
Our prototype works OK with MacBookPro 2016, but when we connect Samsung Galaxy S8 it doesn't work.
I found out that video works OK if i am using TPS65986EVM with expansion board.
By using AARDVARK i have read configuration of EVM and found next differences:
1) EVM configured as UFP_D only, but my board configured as UFP_D and DFP_D.
2) Register 0x5E has different values.
After i have changed both parameters - our dock became to work with S8 and pass video to the DP output.
Question:
1) Where I can find explanation of the parameters of register 0x5E? (Misc Config)
2) Does anybody knows, why S8 can't pass video if my USB-C PHY configured as UFP_D and DFP_D? MacBookPro works OK and could provide video to this port, but S8 doesnt work.
3) Our customer, that is located in China, have an issues with passing video from MacBook 12" via USB-C to DP, at the same PCB that works OK with MacBook Pro. Does any body know what could be the issue?
