AM26LV31: Exposed pad (AM26LV31/AM26LV32)

Hallo,

I am using the AM26LV31 and AM26LV32. They have an exposed pad. Should this pad be connected to GND or left unconnected?

    Hello Sebastian,

    Maybe I am missing something, I looked at the datasheet for both of those parts and I don't see a exposed pad.  Are you sure these are the correct part numbers?  Usually the datasheet specifies what can and can't be done with the exposed pad.  For example, it says it is to be connected to GND or maybe it says No Connect, which means it isn't attached to the part internally but you can connect it to the GND for better thermal heat transfer.

    Hi Francis,

    The datasheet i used is this one:

    On page 3 it says that the device is equipped with a thermal pad (i am using the AM26LV31EIRGYR and the AM26LV32EIRGYR).

    But as far as i can see i do not find any information about how to connect the pad. On page 23 it gets more specific about the pad, but it doesn't say if it can be connected to a ground plane.

    I have double checked and the thermal pad is not electrically connected and should be attached to the best heat sink, which is usually GND.
